run.....run as far away from him as you can. He doesn't know shit about what he's doing.
You dont need a new comp. You need the use of a programmer for your computer that cost $400, and includes the software and interface device to hook to YOUR laptop and change the tuning in your existing computer. That's what most of us use.
DHP PowrTuner.

not to drive it, just to tweak/upload the tune, and record scans with. Once it's tuned you can give the laptop back to whoever you borrowed it from, and dont have to keep it around.

all people with late model FWD GM's with aftermarket turbo's and S/C's SHOULD have it. The ones that dont are probably buying new pistons and rebuilding their engines wondering WTF.....
it IS gm OBDII specific, and is not premade for every vehicle. DHP has a large quantity of the late model GM FWD community taken care of. When you purchase, if they dont have the programming for your particular year/model, they will research it, create it and send it to you.
Now, what this program does is allow YOU to change the settings in your STOCK computer, allows you to change the fueling, timing, transmission shift settings, etc. Just about everything you can think of that contributes to regulating your engine's operation, including fan on/off times, torque converter lockup....need I say more?

no that sounded pretty good. now that other kid told me, since i got an AUTO tranny its gonna be hard for the turbo to kick in, so ill have to manually go from 1st to 2nd to D. but it sounds like what you just described, id be able to configue through the program to help stuff like that?

I would say find someone to help U tune with HP Tuners. If U don't even know what U have then U have a long way to go before U worry about tuning U'r self. Go to HPTuners.com and research in the forums and ask every question U can think of. No matter how dumb it may seem if U don't know then ask because it's better to ask a dumb question and get it right then not ask the question and seriously skrew something up.
