Lancer or Civic?
I got a friend who's looking for a left over '03 car. He limited it down between the Civic and the Lancer and wants me to help him, so now I lay this question on you guys......what is a better car/ what do you guys like better? No Flamming!

Uh..... The Mitsu I guess. Are we talking base models here or performance? I'd go with the Lancer Evo if we're stepping up the performance ladder. The Civic Si is worthless.
I'd rather have a WRX STI than either of those two choices however.

I would go with the civic. A lot of aftermarket support, better potential for modifications, and I have seen some really nice newer civics that looked really clean. But the cavi would be an even better choice. Also what is your friend looking to spend. This maybe help even more.

a 99-00 SI is the only civic id buy
the 7th gen civics are jsut trash....slow and shitty
yeah i know a 16.1 is claimed everywhere, but if thats true then my car runs mid 15s cause i waste 7th gen civics (even ones with intake, header, exhaust) all day long
and the lancer is just crap too....slow as shit, unless its an evo, but then he should get hte STI over that.
yeah i think a 2.2 cavvy 5spd would be his best bet, and fastest.

He's looking to spend under $20k for a car. I think he wants to go for either the Civic EX coupe or the Lancer OZ rally edition. All he needs right now is something reliable, efficient and cheap on the insurence. He said that he would like to do some mods to it but that would be down the road. Either way I have raced both cars and killed them so I don't have much of an opinion on either.

I think that your friend should get the civic. The lancer is ugly. But I would go with a cavi, or even a sentra.
Although I dont like the rims on the car, I think this is an example of a nice clean civic.

*I* think bodykits look like anus :p
Either way, I'd vote for a Civic (preferably an EX manual) or a Sentra (1.8L manual, or 2.5L auto)..........

I'm with Fat Matt on this.
How about Golf or Jetta? They certainly aren't as reliable as the Civic but they do have a devoted following. And you don't see them on every corner, at least not around here.
Price might be an issue. Just thinking out loud BTW.
