Rear ended saturday.
was driving home from work in the GTO and a complete retard slams into me from behind at a stoplight. this guy had to have been doing 40+, was not just a fender bender. car may be totalled. the driver side quarter panel is totally destroyed, somehow he bounced off and hit my fender... rear suspension looks damaged as well, driver side wheel was kicked out.
to top it off this guy was driving on a suspended license. he claims the sun was in his eyes and he couldn't see.
ya.
i am beyond pissed at this time. i am going to push for the car to get totalled so i can buy another GTO... there are still a few out there. if they fix it this thing will never be the same.

Re: Rear ended saturday.
Dayyammn- Fockin RETARD A$$ driver bro. Sorry to hear about your ride. Well, it SOUNDS totalled- It sucks to lose it after the work (or care) you've put into it, but I guess that would be better. Best of luck man. If they call it TOTALLED do you think you'll get enough to grab another GTO alright?

Re: Rear ended saturday.
damn that is terrible man. Sorry to hear that. I am paranoid about that happening to me.
when i am riding my bike drivers must think im having a seizure because of how many times i flash my rear brake light and move around, but hell, its better than getting steamrolled by some jackass.
Let me know how it goes with the whole thing.

Re: Rear ended saturday.
well its getting repaired believe it or not. damages were 11,000. it is currently waiting a part to come from Australia of all places! 9.9
yeah but i should have her back soon. the body shop i took it to has a very good rep. they have awesome equipment there... sucker should be straight when its done. yeah the value is going to plummit but oh well. at least i will have it back to enjoy it. i will drive the crap out of her now.
kind of bought another car in the meantime... stealth grey metallic g6. kind of a step down from the GTO but i needed something to get me back and forth to work. this car is much nicer than i expected it to be, though! gm has come a long way from the grand am and the cheapness of the 80's and 90's.

Re: Rear ended saturday.
So a G6 added to the stable! How long do they estimate repairs to take? I am kind of shocked they didn't total it ..

Re: Rear ended saturday.
doesn't matter to me... it's getting fixed and i don't have to pay for it. i have to pay a deductible because i don't have uninsured driver coverage but no biggy. they are pursuing the guy anyhow, so perhaps i won't be liable for the 500 bucks.
the repair time was originally 20-25 days... they already have the preliminary work done, done all the sheet metal pulls and have welded in the new frame rail as well as replaced the control arm that was bent. everything else is just waiting on that one part (inner quarter panel). my guess is, that when they get the part it will probably be another week and a half to 2 weeks. i saw they pulled it back into the shop yesterday so maybe they got the part...
as long as the car is straight and is structurally sound i really don't care too much. i don't plan on reselling it.

Re: Rear ended saturday.
well i finally got it back.
part never did come in from GM. instead they found an 04 in a salvage yard and were able to get the entire quarter section. they cut it up to get the inner quarter part.
car looks brand new again. drives brand new.
only part i am not happy about is that now it's too cold to really enjoy! guess i will have to wait until next spring...
