Re: GM Cancels Retirees Healthcare
The news said that if GM does not do something fast, they will run out of money by 2010. GM keeps pissing away its money! We may be seeing the slow demise of one of Detroit's original 3. They should probably going into survival model and cut some lines and maybeye even buick, then pontiac/GMC if needed. I mean toyota, honda and nissan all have 2 major brands (not counting puegeot as they were a seperate company only a short while ago), with the Chevy, Caddy and Saturn lines they can have the market with some strategic planning. Chevy needs to step up its quality and integrate the GMC/ Chevy truck line up together, concentrate on small cars while still specializing on the performance aspect as this demo becomes a niche market in the future. Step up Saturn to fill in pontiac as a "diffrent" upper middle class car demo (volvo and saab started this way) and continue as they are doing with caddy and take on Mercedes and BMW, Lexus. I mean have you sat in a caddy lately or even driven one? They are light years beyond what they were just 10 years ago! Plus all the new cool technology used in a caddy will trickle down. For instance they have their version of the BMW idrive LAN set up in the car, this will be gm's first system like bmw and merc and will bring the cars up to the level of bmw within the means of driver control and the car's systems intergration. plus they need to get their paper work, their overspending on crap stuff and way the sell cars more efficient, its really wastefull. Well i wish them good luck cuz i still wanna buy a Z06 or the new CTS-V and loved my TA WS-6 and GTO.
