Yes, apparently there's already some worm out there exploiting this. There's a class-action suite against them now... and they certainly deserve to lose whatever amount that's decided upon.
Their EULA is equally horrible:

But... I'm sure we can expect this type of nonsense to continue. :banghead:

Apple / iPod = vendor lockin. That's nearly as bad as Sony... but people will continue to worship those mediocre white devices.
Macs certainly do break... the iBook titanium at work (in our test lab) is used very lightly yet...
-Doesn't turn on all the time (beeps and whines tho)
-powersupply connector is cheap... won't stay plugged in
-battery doesn't last or charge too well
-CMOS clock battery keeps dying
-screen flickers if laptop is bumped. I haven't seen a laptop with that ghettoness since the ones from the mid 90's.

sony fanboys. they're funny folk. what makes me laugh is when sony fanboys are like "microsoft is a money hungry company that is trying to buy its way into the market!!!1." they make it seem as if freaking sony is some mom and pop shop...
ps3 is going to get it's ass handed to it... not only because of this, but it's also coming a year after the xbox 360.

This article is really worth a read:
http://www.wired.com/news/print/0,1294,69601,00.html
He really takes the whole picture into account. This kind of DRM shit is what will ultimately screw consumers/users and slow technological advances. Hell, this mess demonstrates how a scenario similar to the underlying plot of the Terminator movie series (specifically T3) is not so Sci-Fi after all.

I truly believed that even in the biggest and most-corporate security company there are people with hackerish instincts

After agreeing to a recall, Sony BMG said Friday it would let customers who have already purchased CDs to mail them back, postage free, for a replacement. Sony BMG also would send them a link to download digital versions of the tunes.
