Mozilla Firebird

Being a web designer I am constantly checking out new browsers. As I'm sure some of you know cross browser compatibilty is a huge deal in the design world. Especially when you are trying to puch the limits of CSS and web standards. Not all browsers support the newest technologies in the same way. On my Mac I have Safari, Explorer, Netscape, Opera, and Mozilla. I recently read this article on Webmonkey about Mozilla's latest release of Firebird so I thought I would check it out. Let me just say that this is by far the best browser that I have ever used. I haven't tested the latest version of Safari and can't do that until I'm running Panther, but I don't think it will even come close to Firebird. On my 28k connection I noticed a difference of SECONDS to open every page, especially this site. :D It is screamin fast! On top of that it supports the latest standards flawlessly without any of the problems it's father Netscape has. I highly recommend everyone at leat try this browser!

With the standard Mozilla my fiance had trouble using various games on zone.com and other sites like that. So unless someone can check that real quick and let me know if they work in firebird it will probably be a while before I try it.

Blame that on MSN and their proprietary code that only IE understands. IE Windows at that.

I've used Firebird for some time now. (about 3 months). I'm loving every precious second of it! Can't really say much you didn't cover :) (I'm on a 28k connection too :))

this is my first post with mozilla and i dont like it...it seems to be slower than my IE

Wow, I just checked their website and they have released a new version of Firebird, now called Firefox. If you didnt dowload that one then you should, not the standard Mozilla. As soon as I get off of work I'll download that and see how it is.
