Torrent
G6 coupe
G6 convertible
sadly I didn't see the Solstice listed :( , but pontiac still lists it on their site.
The Monte Carlo and Impala are sharing the 3.5 with the G6 and According to Automotive News, Chevy will offer an optional 303hp 5.3-liter V-8 in it's mid-sized cars. Suposidly Pontiac is still comming out with the optional 3.9L v6 for the G6 coupe & convertible.
My opinions on each of the cars:
The Z06 vette is sick
The Monte looks the same except for the revised "Lumina" front end *thumbs down*
The Impala has the revised "Lumina" front end too :o
The HHR looks like a cross between a Jeep Liberty and a Pt Cruiser. Can you say "MAD UGLY"? Probibly something Chrysler should have made insted.
The Torrent is just another Equinox.
The G6 coupe doesn't look bad, almost like a 350z from the back angle, but the front angle screams Accord coupe.
The G6 convertible is just another chick car

why does the back of the G6 coupe look like a 350z? What they didnt like the idea of the 4 door looking like a neon? And then the G6 convertable looks like a solaria or something.
I hate the G6...

Monte Carlo = 4x4? Come on STOP GIVING THESE CARS 12" of ground clearance!
Impala = unimpressive, not intimidating at all
Z06 = AWESOME ;)
Cobalt SS = sweet
HHR = um wtf the pt cruisers older suv brother? Its alright I guess if you like that style...
Torrent is just a weird word...

The engine choices for the new Impala and Monte are very nice though. FWD still, but definately some interesting powertrain options. :bigok:

powertrain info
According to Chevrolet.com the engine lineup for the Monte & Impala are as follows:
LS/LT:
211hp 3.5L dohc V6
LTZ:
3.9L vvt V6 (couldn't find hp #'s)
SS:
303hp 5.3L dod V8
It sounds like a good powertrain lineup, but no stick shift. :(
The HHR is comming with the 144hp 2.2L dohc ecotech or a 172hp 2.4L vvt ecotech. It being offered with either a 5-speed getrag or a 4-speed electronically controlled automatic. As Jeremy said, the same guy that designed the PT Cruiser designed the HHR......that pretty much explains the deal with it.
And if nobody noticed, both G6's shown are GTP models. It kinda ruins the GP GTP for me......but that's just me. :banghead:

Cobalt SS
Hey I know its not a Pontiac but its a GM just like all the rest of those cars. Anyway what does everyone think of the new Cobalt particulary the SS. I like the car myself and the reviews seem great. I dont know much about ecotec engines though and the cobalt SS sports a supercharged one? Does anyone know about the reliability of Ecotec engines or have any input on the Cobalt SS?

The 2.2L ecotec seems to be a very good and reliable engine and runs smoother and much quieter than the quad did. I'm sure the 2.4L and 2.4L supercharged doesn't fall far from this. The Cobalt SS seems like a hot little car, I think it would make an excellent tuner car. Chevy rented a store space in the local mall where they're intoducing the Cobalt with a 4-door and the SS model (they also have the c6 and the SSR) so I got to check out the SS and even sit in it. My only complaints on the SS are that it sits too high, no dual exhaust, the AMG style rims, the price and if I get one, I can see it being an endless money pit (in mods of course :p )
Here's a pic of the Pontiac Pursuit. They're only making it in Canada as a 4-door model. I hope Pontiac makes an SS equivalent here, that would be the only thing that would really save Pontiac at this point.
