This car is not the official 06 GTO!! GM Performance Division will unveil two new concept vehicles for the Woodward Dream Cruise next week: a modified Pontiac GTO and Chevy Colorado pickup. The modified GTO and Colorado are "Employee Enthusiasm" vehicles, an internal volunteer program that gives younger GM engineers the opportunity to manage a concept car from start to finish. The first public showing for the vehicles will be at a Woodward Dream Cruise press conference Tuesday, Aug. 17 at Pioneer Park in Royal Oak. They will then be on display at Athens Coney Island throughout the Cruise.
The GTO concept has a 6.3 L V8 engine with 500 hp at 5200 rpm and 500 lb-ft of torque at 5000 rpm, matching early rumors about the LS7 for the C6 Corvette Z06. It also has a six-speed manual transmission, modified brakes, bigger wheels and tires and new exhaust. The bright orange exterior features a new hood, fender, quarter panel, spoiler, front and rear fascia and rockers.
It is purely a concept car, a great looking on, but still just a concept car.

soltice is a roadster 2 seater with a S/C 2.2 eco tec and a six speed. its pretty cool. the 06 gto is the gray one from obove. pontiac is pre selling them already down here. and i think the old TA style exhuast looks cool on the gto concept. i like the mix of the retro modern.

so there gunna stroke the 2.2l? cuase the quad is gone the next gen quad is techncaly the eco tec. or is it bored out. you know thier gunna use that 205hp S/C eco in it. its a strong engine. just like on the G6 the first engine is the 3.5L and then the 3.9 in the later model years. hel id buy a black hard top soltice it looks like an oldschool roadster

Yeah, supposedly. If they keep the price of the Solstice under 25K they will sell a shit load of them.
What I meant to say was I expect to see a RWD performance minded coupe with a Chevrolet badge on it in the near future.

They plan on either bringing back the chevelle nameplate (based on the GTO) or making the next gen Monte Carlo into a v-8 rwd setup.

the nexy gen impala is gunna be rwd and small v8 gm has already anounced it. but it will not come out with the chevelle. the camaro name invokes more emotion than the chevelle. and they havent fierd thier muscle car rwd development people yet

I still haven't seen a single one on the road. I saw a few at the Pontiac Dealer/Service shop a few days ago. They're awesome in person. I saw the window sticker and 17mpg really sucks for city driving. Surprisingly it gets 31 highway.
