headers have been taken down for reconstruction, they were a little too close to some other accessories for my liking. Soon as they're redone, they'll be sent out for Jet-Hot coating, and I'm looking forward to late May for reassembly, then early June for completed tune.....then it's off to the tracks. If anyone is interested, I already ran a baseline at Southwest International Raceway, before turbo install. Altitude was 3,100 feet at the track, and the runs were conducted with only two mods installed. Cold air intake, and B&M shift+
Run 1: 16.55 @ 85.3 mph
Run 2: 16.58 @ 85.5 mph
Run 3: 16.53 @ 85.7 mph
I figured this way I can show what kind of times the mods are worth once done. I'm debating on a day at the dyno's before the new track runs though.
Other mods included with the build once the headers return:
Heads: SI stainless valves w/ 3-angle valve job
fully hogged as far as they'll go (ported/polished)
Manley #350 springs
Titanium retainers/locks
full copper headgaskets with stainless bore rings, waterjet cut, custom.
ARP head stud set
Intakes: 3400 LIM ported/polished
3500 UIM ported/polished, matchported to 70mm at the neck
TB: from 4.3 Vortec
MAF: 5-wire with integrated IAT
Wastegate: 48mm
BOV: 50mm
Injectors: 42.5# (debating on jumping to 60# near future)
Home built boost controller
DHP PowrTuner
Walbro 255 lph fuel pump
Undecided on brand/type FPR, but I'm going for a 1:1 rising rate for boost.
Kenne Bell Boost-a-Spark, Boost-a-Pump
MSD coil packs
Taylor Spiro-wound 8mm wires
Exhaust: Full 3" through cat delete pipe, then split to dual 3", and kicking out to triple pipes on each side at the back of the sideskirts, just for visual effect :) Mufflers undecided at this point. This is gonna be a problem though, cuz on the pass. side, the fuel tank is sitting too close to where I want the pipes to exit (plastic tanks, dammit!) So this is gonna take a round fuel cell to sit in the spare tire well.
Future additions: Crane 1.6 fulcrum roller rockers
working on options for double roller timing set
Ross custom pistons
modified Eagle H-beam rods
Of course, transmission work, we're currently toying with options for a severe buildup on the 4t45, or a heavily built ZZP 4t65HD
