Red face I'm back

Well, I never really left but haven't posted in a few years. I've been around since gapower.net (or whatever that was) Anyway, we donated the 92 Grand Am (with self-installed 3300) to charity in December of 2004. I got a 99 Mercury Cougar 5-speed and drove that for a few years. I gave my wife the 96 Grand Prix that I was driving.

The 3100 in the GP was pissing coolant, so I had Brian Teel swap it for a 3800 (naturally aspirated) this past April. Now the car has a solid powertrain.

My Cougar fell apart (damn Fords). Tired from replacing the alternator every 3000 miles, I got fed up with American cars in general, and bought an 06 Civic EX (5-speed). I got a beater motorcycle to learn on, an 82 Yamaha Virago 750. Riding is fun, and bikes are much easier to work on.

Anyway, you might find me trolling around asking about exhaust and bumpers and such. Inspection is coming next month, and I've got some work to do.

Welcome back!

How hard was it to install a 3800 in the GP?

For Brian, it was easy, he got it done over a long weekend. It would've taken much longer if I did it myself. Exhaust seemed a bit tricky, and he needed to make a custom driveshaft for the driver's side. It's great having the extra horsepower, more reliability, and same fuel economy.
