My first nice ride!
Hey,
My name is Jason and I just recently purchased me a 1984 Chevy Camaro. I got it for a good price and this will be my first project car. It's not a Z28, but when I'm done with it, you'll know it's one bad ass mofo just from hearing it. It'll take a lot of work and I'm no mechanic, but I do know a few people that can help me out. I would greatly appreciate any of the advice or expertise thay I know I'll find here at GMPT.net. If you want any more information about me or my car just ask. Don't be a stranger. Jason

Well one of my first plans for it is a 350 motor. Not just any 350 motor though. This one was built from the ground up by one of the best engine builders in Flint, MI (My hometown). It was built for a Astro Van and has only 20,000 miles on it. The engine has a racing crank and racing transmission, but the drive shaft will need to be cut for it to fit. It has a Carter carb that's been modified, but I don't know the details. This should be taking place early spring of next year. Any ideas on small things that could be done to it to increase some of the performance or prepare for the bigger motor?

Well of course good forged internals.Good breathing heads and a properly sized cam. Correct gears and a fairly high stall torque converter.
I built a 350 for the Impala the first time although it blew in 4 minutes in the shop due to an issue with the powdercoaters screwing up the intake.Built the first 396 in the next 3 weeks. Good luck with the project.

Sounds like you picked yourself up a nice ride, my buddy had the same one he did a bunch of work on himself, Cam , Headers and a bunch of other stuff it turned out real nice , well best of luck to you and your Maro
