My intro

Hey Guys.

just ran across this place by chance, good to see a forum thats hopefully focused more on the tuning side of things then the other shitty cobalt forums.

I've got two cars, and there like my babies but the cobalt as of now is getting all the atention.

i just got done doing a blower to turbo swap on the car. I designed and spec'd the whole kit and turbo on my own (almost have my ME degree) and i'm vary happy with how things have turned out as of yet.

shes made a few high 300whp range pulls(376/368) on the dyno but my goal is 410ish whp with a solid wtq number, once thats reached i'll post the graphs for proof and the mod list it took to hit it.

I've done quite a bit to the drive train on the car to make sure she can handle my goals and i've been able to upgrade just about every piece that i'll need to to make my end goals.

let me know if you have any questions about the car, i'm sure i left ot details....

heres a few pics

heres what the engine bay looks like

the blower has a intake plenum tig'd inside it to help keep the stock look of the car.

shes turned out real nice, and still looks close the stock.

let me know what ya think! See ya around the forum!

Re: My intro

Happy to have you here! We have about 3,000 members, but like any forum, not everyone is active. We have lots of hardcore tuners that frequent the site and I'm glad to have you on board with GMPT!

Re: My intro

it's messed up how 2 different brands of dyno's give way different results.

Re: My intro

what's even more screwed up is that there are several different "standards" for horsepower correction, too.

Re: My intro

vary true, all the levels of SAE correction that are used, wide and narrow step averaging, just makes dyno numbers more and more useless.

Re: My intro

I was just watching the speed channel with an episode about american muscle cars. They had engine dynos to see pure horsepower the engine put out (literally, only the engine hooked to this dyno, nothing else). They took stock 409 engines, etc, so see if they actually put out 409 HP as they claimed. They sat around 406HP ..
