I Broke into the 15's!
Hey, what's up guys. I went to the track with my ex and 2 of her friends last night and that was pretty fun. Just for the record...
Weather Conditions: 50º, 20% humidity, 240meters/790 ft above sea-level. 2 Years ago, with cheap Gabriel struts and just a Ractive cone filter at the end of the stock intake system, I ran a 16.3 in about the same weather conditions. I think the KYB struts I have no helped a lot with minimizing wheel hop. Me: '96 GAGT, 2.4L 5spd, 4dr, custom cold air intake, sound system and spare tire taken out. Ariana: '98 Cavalier, 2.4L Auto, 4dr, stock & spare tire taken out. Vinh: 2000 Eclipse GT, Auto We saw a '92 Prelude and a Camaro from the TRS boards; they seemed like nice guys, anyways, I raced the prelude in my 2nd run. Here are my runs... #1 Reaction: 1.1332 1/4 ET: 16.0690 1/4 MPH: 88.32 Not sure of launch revs Slip: 2000 Eclipse vs. Me #2 Reaction: 0.9656 1/4 ET: 16.1323 1/4 MPH: 87.11 Launched at 2000 rpms Slip: '92 Prelude vs. Me #3 Reaction: 0.8576 1/4 ET: 15.8664 1/4 MPH: 87.98 Launched at 2500 rpms Slip: '98 Cavalier vs. Me #4 Reaction: 0.8307 1/4 ET: 15.8886 1/4 MPH: 87.99 Launched at 2500 rpms Slip: 2000 Eclipse vs. Me I also have videos of me vs the '92 Prelude and me vs. the Eclipse (4th run). Unfortunately I only have a gig of bandwidth on my site, so I really don't want to host it there, so just e-mail me @ ravynx@tamu.edu if you want to see them. Here are all the videos that were taken... - WRX vs. Celica - 2000 Eclipse vs. Cavalier - 900HP Dodge Viper vs. Firebird (they messed up so I only got them lining up at the start) =P - Me & '92 Prelude Lining up - Me & '92 Prelude Going at it - '92 Prelude and '98 Cavalier pulling into the lineup, random video in the pits - Mustang vs. Saturn (I think?) - 2 Motorcylces - '98 Cavalier vs. '92 Prelude - 2000 Eclipse vs. Saturn - '92 Prelude vs. Saturn - Me & '98 Cavalier at the lineup, (my 15.8667 run, but Ariana's friend started it too late, didn't tape run, bah) - Me vs. 2000 Eclipse (My 4th run) Sorry, there's no sound and you can't see the times at the end of the track b/c my Digital camera isn't made for shooting videos, hehe. I have my timeslips scanned above though. =)

Those are nice times. Gives me reassurance that I can hit those times with my car. What else do you have done to you car besides the intake? Did you run with your rims or the stock wheels, is your car lowered?

For those of you who want to see still shots, here ya go...
Vinh and I at the Start Ariana's & My Car Vinh's Eclipse, Ariana's Cavalier, My Grand Am The Start of the Track The Lineup 1992 Honda Prelude 2000 Eclipse GT Grand Prix GTP, Ariana, and Me The Group Afterwards 1 Afterwards 2 - Ariana's Cavalier ran 16.1 at best, averaged 16.34's. - The Eclipse was having trouble with his Auto Sport shift when he tried to shift manually producing 16.4s, but when he put it in full auto he managed 15.8's. - The '92 prelude was stick shift and was producing 16.2's.

nice....lol i ran 15.4 w/ zex....didnt have traction and had to let off the gas by the 1/8 and re-mash it...then spun somemore...

Hey nice times...
I was looking at the pics and the last one got me wondering.. http://ravynx.net/img-lj/track/vinhme.jpg What happened to tires with sidewall?? Were the cars lowered before, or is that just how they are? Bumper on the eclipse Does look nice though!!

Not fully sure what you meant by "what happened to tires with sidewall" but the larger the rim you get, the less sidewall you have. I think the taking a picture at that angle just makes the gap look extremely huge. It's not that bad in other pics. =)
