Well, the closest that I know of is GLD (Great Lakes Dragaway). Its in Oak Grove, WI about 3 hours from here. I went to a Grand Am meet there once and it was pretty cool. This was back when I had my slow 3300 though. But yea, I don't know of a closer one.

Yeah its a pretty sweet place. Its just a 1/4 mile dragstrip but theres always a crap load of sweet cars there. We should all go down there sometime (well, after my car is back together).

Hah... I havent driven it for like two weeks. Its a long story... but my power steering pump has been super noisy for the longest time, my radiator got a crack in it, and as soon as I refilled coolant, my water pump started leaking and the radiator started leaking in a different spot (after I plastic welded the original leak... LOL). Also, the LIM gasket was leaking oil bad. So... right now I got my car all torn apart and I am waiting for a few parts to come in. But I did some work on my manifolds in an effort to make the car quicker. Also, the engine compartment should be pretty cool (well dressed up) when all is said and done. But yea, Ive been taking my time on it and just driving my girl's sunfire... I saw you today BTW... it was me that waved. But yea, I am hoping to have it all done Thursday.

Yeah, so far the lower intake manifold is painted high gloss black, the upper is going to be high gloss black with white accents, the fuel rails are painted high gloss white, and the valve covers are painted high gloss black as well. I already have white engine loom and I am going to paint the piping for the CAI white, as well as the coolant reservoir black. It should look pretty decent when I'm done... and I can't wait.

What kind of engine paint do you use and how do you cure it?

Ive been using high heat engine enamel on the parts I already painted (now the uim, lim, fuel rails are all painted) and it dries in like a day smooth. But because the texture of the manifolds is rough in the first place, its not the greatest looking. I like it, but I'd like it better if it shines. So... its already cured I guess. But I used the same stuff to paint my brake calipers and after driving they are dry... and they look awesome. So I might throw these in the oven for a little bit (because the paint seems to stay tacky the slightest bit til they get hot). But yeah, its duplicolor engine enamel.

Does Bass InLaw refer to fish, or music? Prying minds want to know.

Theres a 1/4 Strip in kaukauna, along with a 1/2 mile oval track. WIR - Wisonsin International Raceway, thats the closest one for me 30 min drive, but GLD is the best place to go ive heard
