Best Place to Get Car Audio Installed?

Hey Guys! I never knew there was a Grand Am Car Club in Manitoba, but it's amazing what you can find on the internet! My Name is Chris, and i've got a '04 Grand Am GT. Anyways, here is my main question, which you can probably tell from the forum topic.

I've just recently purchased a really nice Amp and Subs from my friend, and I am wondering where the best place to get them installed is. My friend suggested Visions, but i've never really liked dealing with Visions in the past.

Where do you get your car audio installed, keeping in mind that it has to be done professionally. Thanks!

I install. :) I've done a few systems now and I'm sure any of these guys will vouch for my quality and attention to detail. If it's just a basic sub and amp install (i.e. the sub is in a box already) then it's relatively easy and I can do it in about 90 min or less.

If you do wanna have it professionally installed I'd redommend Advance, by far the best install shop in the city. You will probably be looking at about $60 - $80 in install costs, plus the wiring kit if you don't have one already.

I would recommend krazy krazy car clinic . they installed my subs , amp and subox . Plus they were very helpful in answering any questions I had about the install .

I can tell you where the worst places are... futureshop followed by bestbuy in a close second. The number 1 worst place is futureshop on Leila.

yeah, I was warned from my friend to stay far far away from Futureshop and Best Buy for installs.

I ended up going to Visions on Pembina just because my friend is friends with the isntaller, so it was a lot cheaper than advance :)

I'll post some pics later tomorrow once I pick up my car (and get it cleaned... it's really dirty)

Oh boy, that didn't go over to well today.

So my appointment was at 2:00 at Visions (Pembina) so I walk in. Go over to the Car Audio area and talk to the guy to say that i'm here to drop off my Car. He says "Ok, this is for the '04 Grand Am?". I simply reply "Yes it is."

As he walks over to the install bay he comes back and says "What's your cell number so we can call you when its done." I tell him. "Ok. It will be done at 4:30 so if we don't call you by then, just come over and we'll see how much longer is left." I say Ok and I leave.

Unfortunally, I had no way of leaving the area due to my brother having the other car for a Volleyball Tourny and my Mom had my dad's car so she could go to work. So, I walk down Pembina and go over to Futureshop. Not too bad, though i did spend 2 hours just "browsing" around.

It's now 3:30 and didn't recieve a phone call, so I went to grab lunch at Subway then spent about 45 minutes wandering around Staples and Sport Check. It is now 4:30, so I walk back down to Visions. As I get there I noticed my car is in the same spot where I parked it, but I had thought they moved it back there. I walk in and I talk with the guy who I gave my keys.

"Hello, i'm here to see if you guys finished installing the Subs and Amp."

"Yeah, lemme go check."

Comes back out, looks at me, and walks back in. Then he walks back out "Uhh... we have a problem. We never got around to doing your car."

I simply reply, "What?"

"Yeah... well... its kinda like... well..."

I just gave him a blank stare. "I need this done Today. I was told it was going to take 2 hours to do. How in gods name did you screw it up"

Basically, the guy i talked to, didn't tell the installer that I had come by and dropped off my car. They were suppose to call me but the guy never did. So my car sat outside for 3 hours and nothing got done.

So i simply told them that I expected to get some money back because i spent 3 hours at futureshop/staples, had No way of going home, and booked off work today to get this done (which took a lot of convincing). So, they booked me for a different day... next friday. Yeah, so now i'm really pissed because of all of this.

I just pray that they don't screw up again or else i'm demanding a refund and going somewhere else to get it done.

Shitty deals bud, I would have made them install it for free after that. it's one thing to mabye take longer... but to not even touch your car... that's brutal.
