I did get my car back, but the fun has only begun. DO NOT EVER GO TO MIDWAY CHRYSLER!!! We missed a bunch of stuff when we did the walk around because my car was filthy inside and out and they were supposed to clean it first but didn't. So, I'm going back to MPI today (Jan 9th) to get my car re-assessed. The stuff that was caught by MPI and Midway was fixed VERY POORLY with no attention to detail.

Here is what the Dealer did: There's pieces missing from my new dash, there's a nick in my stereo bezel, my dome light wasn't even wired and fell down when I tried to turn it on and now keeps falling down, my windshied is now cracked, they actually threw out some of my stuff that they thought was junk including a brand new windshield wiper, which I recoverd out of their garbage. My sunglasses are now missing, but they were in my car when I first went to see it at Midway, and the punk kid that cleaned my car claims he didn't touch them. My new lock on the drivers side door got jammed the first time I inserted my key and now will not turn when i put my key in it. The vents in my dash were not pushed in all the way exept for one that was jammed in sideways and is now stuck. The little paint work that had to be done (my handle) was a crap job and there's a "chip" in the paint producing a black mark that was clear coated over.

ARGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New stuff I discovered when I got my car back: There are scuff marks on my front right bumper and fender, I have burn hole in my passenger seat, and I'm missing one of my stock floor mats that were in the trunk. My speakers might be popped cause my car's volume was pumped with the bass full blast and was distorting, and a 50 cent CD was playing, probably from the crook. I'm missing a stock floor mat from my trunk.

I will be taking my car to Winter's Auto Body for the new stuff that needs to be done and deal with the dealer on the stuff they TRIED to fix.

Sigh...

UPDATE:

Went to MPI, dealt with "The Boss" and he was awesome. Anything I had issues with he said "no problem". He will have to depreciate my seat 15% on the repair, but shouldn't be a huge amout to pay on my part. He authorized a new dome light, two new floor mats, and painting my front bumper and front left fender.

The windshield on the other hand was cracked from what he says was changes in temperature recently from going in and out of the cold, and was caused by a big stone chip, and not by the dealer as I had thought. The MPI guy was telling me that he would probabbly have to put my windshield on a seperate claim and I would have to pay a deductible, but went to talk to my adjuster first. He came back 10 mins later and told me that they will cover the windshield on the same claim since I put my neck on the line to catch the theif and probably saved them some money by doing so.

Next up, taking my car to Advance for a speaker check. If they find something wrong, MPI has authorized the repair....YAAY!!!

Feeling much better....Anders.

The next time I'm in to make another autopac payment I'm scheduling an appointment for an immobilizer. I certianly wouldn't want this amount of trouble.

if you plan on keeping your car for three years, the immobilizer will be free based on savings off your insurance. i plan on selling my car next april so it wasn't worth it, so i just bought a club in the meantime as a deterent.

As soon as they started offering the discount I had one installed in my car. No problems at all. About 3 weeks after having the unit installed I got a check from autopac for $40. They reimbursed me the entire amount of the discount. The device is worth having, cause as we've seen this past summer, two people we know have had their Grand ams stolen. I just thank goodness that they both got them back.
