Nice! I know that would help a lot with the way I've seen GM headlights go (at least in my family). I also suggest using the Meguirs PlastX, either by its self or after sanding.

The problem with sanding headlamps is that you also sand off the UV inhibitor coating that helps to keep the plastic lens from yellowing in the sun. Ideally you need to finish with a clearcoat with UV inhibitors in it but they're hard to find. I know Krylon makes some but I couldn't find any at any Canadian Tire.
