Nice ride Jordie, must be pretty fun with the 6 spd. Must be pretty quick too, that 3900 has the variable valve timing doesn't it?

It does, also known as Cam Phasing. It also has a dual stage intake manfold.

nice, those 2 doors look so much nicer than sedans.
On this day, December 1st 2005, let it be known that the 3900 will forever more be known unto you as "The Snail" That is all.

I like it much better than the grand am, and you are one of the very few people who think so. But thanks for the nice comment anyways.

The main thing is that you enjoy it. You are gonna be the one cruising. I do want to say that you are still welcome to join us at Advance. Hope you'll be in town for our get together cause I think I still owe you a beer from when you helped me install the gauges. So, first beers on me jordie!

I'm not sold on the G6 GTP either.
The 3900 is no great shakes....240hp?...the GP GTP was making that power years ago. 18 mpg fuel economy in the city? The GP GTP does better than that and has more power. Even the GTO matches that in the city.
The one thing that I'm impressed about is the price. Very competitive.
...patiently awaiting the technical service bulletins... :D

Dont forget though, 240 hp sure, but its more at the wheels, and its probably a flatter torque curve too because of that cam phasing. So probably more usable power over the entire RPM range. Its only 40 less lbs of torque, without a blower. Pretty good Id say. I can't see why it wouldnt make work of stock GTP's. Same power pretty much, with a 6 spd. And a much more aggressive gearing, 3.55 FDR vs 2.93. Not to mention its on the Epsilon architecture, which outhandles the N-body platform, and even the N-body platform outhandled the W-body platform.
I'll admit I didn't like the G6 at all when they first came out, but that coupe version has really grown me.
