Help! Its an Emergency! (Computer Related)

Crap! I need some serious help with my laptop!

I was finishing up my program (worked on it for 2 days straight), and then my laptop froze and gave me the Blue Screen of Death with

The image wldap32.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum

I tried repairing it, but it won't let me because XP is gay.

Anywhos, I need to hook up my laptop HDD to my pc, and I was wondering if anyone has a cable or something.

I tried using the Laptop to IDE Cable i have, except the HDD on my laptop doesn't have any pins! Yes, no pins! All it has is a sliding contacts, pretty much exactly like a SNES/NES/N64/Atari/etc Cartridge. I need to despriately get my program and school notes (got a test coming up worth 25% of my mark, and my program is worth 10% of my final grade).

And yes, I know i'm an idiot for not backing any of it up

check around the HDD, it should have screws securing it to a adapter. Most laptop drives have what is like a adapter with a metal strap around the HDD. Laptops do not have a special drive, so any peice is removable. Just be careful not to bend any of the pins. Worst case, give me a call and drop by my place and I can help you out b4 BP tonight. I have all the cables you might need. Should be able to save any data on the drive. Maybe even try accessing it with a boot disk and then copying it to a flash drive.

We'll I managed to figure out what my problem was about hooking it up. I tried using a IDE adapter when my HDD is clearly a SATA drive... haha... ha... :(

I got some of the information off it, namely my project, but that's all i managed to get. Good enough for me :D

Also, if anyone needs a enclosure for a 2.5" IDE Laptop drive I've got one.

I guess I was cursed somehow, cause now one of my video cards just burned itself out. I had 2 BFG 6600 GT OC cards SLI'd. Well tonight my system died while i was doing some rendering and I got that nasty smell of burned silicon. Well after a bit of sniffing, testing and swaping turned out the primary video card burned out. DOH!

So now I must decide what card to go for. One 6600 Nvidia card isn't fast enough for my liking. So anyways, thats my story.
