Jury duty
Yeah, as the subject line says " Jury Duty ". I got my notice in the mail today. Never done it before and not quite sure what to expect. Has anyone else ever served? My mother says it's interesting, :rolleyes: but listening to a couple lawyers whine about stuff isn't my idea of interesting. :banghead: The other downside is $$$, I think the payment for serving on jury duty is something like 5$ a day. I sure hope this doesn't last long.
If anyone has anything to add, I'm all ears. Has anyone ever served on jury duty?

i just got done filing my Juror Qualification Questionnaire that i got like a week ago, so I am up for it jan thru march 2006...it is so retarded cuz if you get called up, it is like15-27 bux you get paid a day plus like 38.5 cents per mile... that is a pay cut of like 50+ dollars a day

Get out of it!!! I've had two notices, and I just told them that I cannot afford to leave work and that I'm operating on a shoestring budget :) They let me get out of it ;)

i got a stupid notice in the mail a few years ago. said that work was not a valid excuse for not attending. however, having school is. so i sent them my schedule for the semester. didn't have to go.

Yeah I am in school, and I hope that they will understand that this will cause alot of problems. Plus, paying for school and the other bills that creep up is a tight subject. I will talk to them and see what happens.

Well, today got taken off the list because I was going to school. I didn't think it would be this easy, I always thought they put up a fight or something. I suppose an excuse like I am racist would get me dismissed but, only if it was a case having to do with a Ford vehicle. Ford's Suck! I am pleased to admit, I am prejudice towards ford's only. :D ;)

tell them you have friends in law enforcement and it would be hard to be objective cause you listen to scanners and the like. i worked security when my FEDERAL jury duty came up. glad i got out of it. you serve for 2 years!!!! i couldn't believe that!
