Local Winter Storage

I know that August might be thought of as a little early to start talking about winter storage, but I have some information about a local site that is heated 70'F and charges a nice low price for space. They also consider group discounts for clubs and I was wondering how many of you park your cars for the winter and how many would consider it?

PM Me if you would be interested.

LOL, Winnipeg Missouri? Is there such a place?

Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA! The reason for this is Several of the members in our group have mentioned they would like to store their cars over winter, but spots seem to fill up quite quickly. So I have found a location that offers pretty good storage for a fair price. Just trying to help local club members.

But If you feel like driving up to Canada, then sure. Drop by for one of our sunday night cruising meets. I'd be happy to pass along the info there. 8-)

Re: Local Winter Storage

went over to the facility yesterday and secured my spot for winter. Went on a tour of the back and it actually looks pretty good. They have full security alarm system, fire sensors, cameras. The exterior of the loading area leading into the compound has new chainlink fencing and wire around the top. They are continuing to renovate the site with new security measures. Heated indoor (70'F/w humidity control) for 60$ a month is pretty good.

Re: Local Winter Storage

Don't forget to change your insurance to Storage Insurance Rob! A little friendly reminder from me!

Re: Local Winter Storage

plus take the tires off after you put it up on blocks and surround your car, especially the inside with bounce sheets to keep mice out of it.

Don't take the tires off.. unless you want your suspension to sag over the winter.

Re: Local Winter Storage

Thanks for the advice... For storage I will let the car sit on its own, as it will be under 6 months that my ride will be stored for. If the car was being stored for longer, then it would be an idea to partially prop the vehicle up. Taking some load off the tires and suspension is good, but not enough to let the suspension sag. Insurance is a no brainer. Bounce sheets will be a must along with some steel wool, just to be safe. If we can get a few members to join me, we might even be able to get some space around our rides, so that we could come in a work on the cars a bit. Perfect time for long term mods.
