Re: MGAC Offical Show 'n Shine?

i'll talk to my dad about maybe getting a 2 person, one hour flight over the city in his plane.
Part source may be more willing to sponsor then canadian tire. Cause ct wouldn't even give any coupons to my brother's wedding social.

Sweet!

And hmm. I'll check with CT (My mom knows the manager at the Unicity one, so maybe), otherwise, PartSource.

Thumbs up Re: MGAC Offical Show 'n Shine?

Hi;
I'll talk to Angelo over at Fountain tire. He does some of the shows. I'm sure that he would throw in.
Also I'll talk to my friend Kathy Kennedy over at City 92 FM. They might do a lot for us if it's for charity.

Re: MGAC Offical Show 'n Shine?

Oh, the buns and wieners we might be able to get donated from one of the bakeries and meat suppliers. It would be their donation

Red face Re: MGAC Offical Show 'n Shine?

Just an idea, Why don't we set up a show and shine committee of about 4 or 5 members with Chris being the chairman of the committee as it was his plan. That way it wouldn't be mostly Chris having to do everything. Other members could offer ideas or help to the committee. Like I said guys its only an idea. I know I'm just a newbie to the club so if you don't want my opinions just tell me. Don't go getting pissed at me

Ricker: Wonderful idea about the committe.

I won't be coming out this Sunday because of my Homework situation (Making a Defragment Program is a bitch), but maybe if everyone comes out on Dec. 7 we can talk about it there.

Re: MGAC Offical Show 'n Shine?

Okay, so here's some more information:

I'm going to add Old Dutch to the possible sponsors because my mom knows people in Old Dutch and most likely, they'll be willing to donate food.

If we do plan on doing raffles, we have to go to the City of Winnipeg and get a permit to do so :(. $50 - $60... Hey Rob :P

Also, I'm going to go to the MS Society and get their approval next month. Anyone else care to join me? It would be cool if we could get a few of us there.

Re: MGAC Offical Show 'n Shine?

if it's during the week. no can do.

why do we need a permit to raffle off items? isn't it like a garage sale? silent auctions at school you never needed a permit

Re: MGAC Offical Show 'n Shine?

No, we'll end up going there on the weekend sometime.

They need a permit because it's for charity and want to make sure that we're actually going to give the money to a charity and not claim it for ourselves... fuckers.

Re: MGAC Offical Show 'n Shine?

I have some questions & suggestions: This is just my opinion...so take it as you may

Q: Who are you going to charge entrance fee to get in? Is it the spectators in addition to the people who show their cars? If it is the spectators? how r u going to regulate it? It would have to be a gated event., from have people walk right in without paying.
If it is the people who r showing their cars, then In my opinion $5.00 is a lot of money (especially per week...it adds up...even though it is for a good cause) just to show their cars when they can go to the pony or Tavern where it is free. I think $2.00 is sufficient and then ask for donations on top of their entrance fee in addition to donations from the public.
Is this a weekly event or a one time thing?

Suggestions: How about holing it on a Saturday, since pony and tavern don't hold it on this day / there are no other car shows going on, and therefore more people will come out.
Location: How about Princess auto parking lot in St. James on Portage Ave.

P.S. What about bathroom locations...you will probably have to rent port-o-potties!, unless there is a restaurant, like tavern or pony that the general public can use.

Thanx
Tony

Re: MGAC Offical Show 'n Shine?

saturday is a good suggestion.
The show isn't going to be a weekly event. Just a one time deal if I'm not mistaken.
I know Chris got the idea of the car show to be held at the Chamois, from when we went down to Minneapolis last june and went to the car show being held at Perfect 10 car wash. (which is identical to Chamois)

$5.00 isn't too much for a one time deal. Especially if it's for a cause. All the one time dealy shows charge between 5 and 10 dollars.
