scratched drivers side window - GM Performance Tuning

hi!

i have a 2005 grand am still under factory warranty..i have some long vertical scratches on my drivers side window,i took it to the dealer and their service guy said that it wasn't covered under the warranty.but looking through some other forums it seems that many people have had this problem fixed under warranty..Am i missing something here,do any of you know if i can get this fixed under my warranty?

i was told it wasn't covered at jim gauthier pontiac.

Welcome!

You should be able 2 get it fixed under warrenty... just go to another dealer. It's a known problem with ALL GA's. Just be nice, yet firm.

I had my driver side window replaced back in 2004 at Jim Gauthier Pontiac for the same problem, no troubles. I even tried to push them to pay to replace my tint, but that didn't end up happening and I had to pay for that myself.

My car is a 2002, perhaps they think the problem should have been resolved with the newer models?

i'll go back to gauthier and speak to a different service guy and see what he has to say...if it's the same i'll try another dealer

I would suggest that you talk to the guys at McNaught... but stay far away from Pointe West...

really now. I have a 2005 too and my windows look like shittt too. :( How many KMS do you have on your car, i believe they wont help you at all unless your under 60 000kms. I have a bumper to bumper warrently to 100k and they never listen to anything i have to say. I should see if they will replace my scratched windows too, that would be sweeeet.

i have 42000 kms on my car..called them today and asked them to check into whether my window is covered under the warranty,they said they would get back to me. if they end up fixing it under warranty i'll post back letting you know so you can hit them up for the same thing.

my car did have less than 10,000km on it when i had my scratched window replaced under warranty if that helps

im up there indeed with the KMS. almost at 70k O_O! I drive far too much. But the car was bought for that very purpose so i cant complain x_x. hehe.

just wanted to give everyone an update..turns out that it is a covered under my warranty,and they ordered the side window.so i would imagine that yours are covered to philadelphia.
